Office Policies

financialWe maintain the right to charge for missed appointments. When time is reserved for you within our schedule, it is exclusively for you. We begin preparing for your treatment in advance of your arrival. During our morning huddle, we discuss each person’s treatment to be done that day, the materials to be used and what equipment to have ready. The materials checklist for each appointment is reviewed the day before.  Some procedures such as retainers, nightguards, or crowns and bridges require that we call our lab in advance and let them know there is a case to be picked up that day. We respect your busy schedule, and we ask that you have the same regard for us and not allow any failed appointments, late arrivals or cancelled appointments.
A pattern of late arrivals, cancellations or failed appointments on your part may result in our asking you to proceed with your dental care elsewhere. If you need to change an appointment, we ask you to please give us at least 48 hours notice.

Payment Options

Payment of your portion is expected when service is completed. We accept cash, checks, VISA, MasterCard, American Express and Discover credit cards.

If you submit payment at least one week in advance, we will deduct a bookkeeping allowance as follows: Cash/check – 7%, MasterCard/VISA – 4% and American Express/Discover – 3%.

To offer payment plans, we partner with a great company: CareCredit. This company allows  patients to move forward with their treatment and pay for it over time. They offer payment plans without interest, and require prior credit approval.

If you would like to review these financial arrangement options in advance of treatment, please call (703) 497-9709.

Financial & Insurance

We accept almost every insurance, and Dr. Muller is an approved provider for most of them.  When you call to schedule, we can find out what your benefits will be once we obtain some of your personal and insurance information.

As a courtesy we will file insurance claims for you, and we will accept assignment of insurance benefits from most insurance companies, if they offer. We expect an understanding that you will take care of your portion beyond estimated insurance benefits at the time of your visit. The balance is your responsibility whether your insurance company pays the claim or not. In order to file your claim, we ask you to provide us with information, such as your insurance card and the subscriber's social security number. Your insurance policy is a contract between you and your insurance company. We are not party to that contract. Please be aware that some or all of the services provided may be "non-covered" services and not considered "reasonable and necessary" under your dental insurance plan. Your employer is responsible for picking a policy for you from a list presented by their insurance broker.  They can choose a good plan, a mediocre plan, or a poor plan depending on their budget and generosity, or limited by the HR person's understanding of the insurance company's coverage inclusions.  Our practice is committed to offering as a choice the best treatment possible for our patients and we charge what is usual and customary for our area. You are responsible for covering the fees regardless of some insurance company's arbitrary determination.

For insurance benefit questions, please call us at (703) 497-9709.

Of Note:

1) There are many places you could go to buy stuff for much less, but sometimes you prefer to shop where prices are a little higher, and you know why.
2)The sweetness of low price is quickly forgotten when you have to deal day after day with the bitterness of low quality.
3)A few may walk away because of our fees, but no patient will be less than satisfied with the treatment we have provided.
